Calendar Worksheets
Updated October 2026 · 21 free printables
Calendar worksheets for preschool to 2nd grade: a days of the week wheel to color and cut out, yesterday, today and tomorrow, months in order to cut and paste, the four seasons and their months, the knuckle trick for days in a month, real 2027 calendar pages to read and fill in, US holidays, a months word search, a class birthday graph, calendar math and writing the date in words and numbers.
Every page uses a different format, so a child can move from saying the days in order to counting weeks forward on a real calendar. All calendars show correct 2027 dates with Sunday as the first day of the week, as on US wall calendars, and every page with answers has an answer key on page 2 of the PDF.

Tips for calendar worksheets
- Hang a real calendar at child height and cross off each day before starting a calendar page.
- Read dates out loud the US way, month first: 'October fourth', then write it as 10/4.
- To count forward on a calendar, move one row down for each week instead of counting every square.
Fun math facts
- The calendar most of the world uses today is the Gregorian calendar, introduced in 1582.
- A year is about 365 and a quarter days long, which is why an extra day is added every fourth year.
- July and August are named after Julius Caesar and the Roman emperor Augustus.
Fun ways to use your printables
- Let your child be the family 'calendar keeper' who marks birthdays and trips for one month.
- Count down to a special day by drawing a small picture in each box until it arrives.
- Compare this year's calendar with last year's: the same date falls one weekday later (two after a leap day).
How to print
Click Download PDF and print at 100% on US Letter or A4 paper. Page 1 is the worksheet and page 2 is the answer key, so choose “page 1” in the print dialog if you only want the practice page. Every worksheet is free for home, homeschool and classroom use, so print as many copies as you need.
Frequently asked questions
When do kids learn to read a calendar?
Preschoolers start with the names of the days and a daily 'today is' routine. Kindergarten adds yesterday and tomorrow and the months in order. In 1st and 2nd grade kids read a real calendar page, find dates by weekday and count days and weeks forward.
Why does the calendar start on Sunday?
Most calendars printed in the United States put Sunday in the first column. Many other countries and the ISO standard start the week on Monday, so a calendar from abroad may look shifted by one day.
How can I teach the days of the week at home?
Make it a habit: each morning say what day it is, what day it was yesterday and what day it will be tomorrow. The cut-out wheel with a 'today' arrow turns that into a one-minute routine.
Are the calendar dates on the worksheets real?
Yes. The calendar pages are made from the real 2027 calendar, so the weekdays match the dates, and kids can check the answers against any 2027 calendar.
