How to Draw a Rose: step-by-step instructions
The new lines in each step are shown in red.
-

Step 1
Start in the middle with a small swirl. This is the tight bud at the heart of the rose.
-

Step 2
Draw a curved petal on each side of the swirl, wrapping around it.
-

Step 3
Draw a big cup shape underneath, with little curled edges at the top.
-

Step 4
Add two large outer petals, one on the left and one on the right.
-

Step 5
Draw a long stem with a couple of small thorns.
-

Step 6
Finish with two leaves and the pointy green sepals under the flower. Beautiful!
-

Now color it!
Color the outer petals red and the swirl in the middle pink so the rose looks round. The stem, thorns and leaves are green.
