About this activity
A counting memory game: 8 number cards (1 to 8) and 8 picture cards with that many apples, stars, balloons, fish, ladybugs, flowers, hearts or cupcakes. Kids flip two cards and keep them when the number matches the count. It suits ages 4 to 6, and little ones can count the pictures with a finger. Count the pictures twice: once by pointing, once by coloring a dot on each one.
On this sheet
Number Match Memory Game 1-8 Cut out the 16 cards. A pair is a number and the card with that many pictures. Match each number to the card with that many pictures.
Tips for using it
- Say the number out loud each time you trace it.
- Trace the big number with a finger first, then color it in your favorite color.
- Use real objects like coins or pasta to build the number before writing it.
- Start with fewer pairs and add more as your child improves.
Printing tips
Download the PDF for the sharpest result and print at 100% (or “fit to page” on A4). The PNG is 300 DPI, which is handy for tablets and coloring apps. This page is free for personal, family and classroom use.
