About this worksheet
A free printable tens and ones practice worksheet with an answer key. Fill in the boxes. Remember: 1 ten = 10 ones. It matches first grade goals, roughly ages 6 to 7. Say the number in tens and ones: 47 is 4 tens and 7 ones.
Tips for using it
- Count rods by tens first, then add the ones.
- Always write the tens digit first, then the ones digit.
- A zero holds a place: 207 has 0 tens, but the zero still needs to be written.
Printing tips
Download the PDF and print at 100% (or “fit to page” on A4). Page 1 is the worksheet and page 2 is the answer key with the answers in red; print just page 1 if you want to keep the answers for checking. The PNG shows page 1 only. Free for personal, family and classroom use.
