About this worksheet
Six picture boxes for in and out: a fish in a bowl, a teddy bear in a box, an egg in a nest, an apple in a bowl, a duck in a pond and an orange in a basket. Each box asks for the one in or the one out. The answer key is on page 2. Little ones can do most of it with crayons, and a grown-up can read the short questions aloud.
On this sheet
circle the right picture. Circle the egg IN the nest. Circle the teddy bear OUT OF the box. Circle the duck IN the pond. Circle the orange OUT OF the basket. Circle the apple IN the bowl. Circle the fish OUT OF the bowl.
Tips for using it
- Read the sentence aloud and stress the position word, then let your child point before coloring.
- Use a toy and a box to act out the word first: put the bear in, on, under, behind and next to the box.
- For left and right, keep the paper straight in front of your child and check with the L-shaped left hand.
Printing tips
Download the PDF and print at 100% (or “fit to page” on A4). Page 1 is the worksheet and page 2 is the answer key with the answers in red; print just page 1 if you want to keep the answers for checking. The PNG shows page 1 only. Free for personal, family and classroom use.
