About this worksheet
Sorting by one attribute at a time: two rows ask for the same color, two for the same shape and two for the same size. Tricky distractors (same color but a different shape) make kids check the one thing that matters. The answer key is on page 2. Big pictures and only a few tasks per page make it a gentle start for kindergartners.
On this sheet
the row asks. Circle the ones with the same COLOR as the first one. Circle the ones with the same COLOR as the first one. Circle the ones with the same SHAPE as the first one. Circle the ones with the same SHAPE as the first one. Circle the ones with the same SIZE as the first one. Circle the ones with the same SIZE as the first one.
Tips for using it
- Start with the pre-K pages where the different picture is a different thing, then move to the small differences.
- Ask why after every answer; naming the difference (color, size, way it faces) builds vocabulary.
- Cover all rows but one with a sheet of paper so younger kids focus on a single row.
Printing tips
Download the PDF and print at 100% (or “fit to page” on A4). Page 1 is the worksheet and page 2 is the answer key with the answers in red; print just page 1 if you want to keep the answers for checking. The PNG shows page 1 only. Free for personal, family and classroom use.
