Draw the Story: Kitty and the Butterfly
A four-panel comic strip with the first panel drawn: Kitty spots a butterfly in the garden. Kids draw the next three panels and write a caption under each one, so the page becomes their own story. Great for a parent-and-child turn-taking game: one panel each.

About this game
A four-panel comic strip with the first panel drawn: Kitty spots a butterfly in the garden. Kids draw the next three panels and write a caption under each one, so the page becomes their own story. It is made for pre-K and preschool, roughly ages 4 to 5, with big pictures and one number per page. Color the inside of the ears pink.
Tips for using it
- Try a ginger tabby, a black cat or a calico.
- Decide the ending first; then the middle panels are easy to draw.
- Use speech bubbles for what characters say and the caption line for what happens.
- Stick figures are fine; the story matters more than the drawing.
Printing tips
Download the PDF for the sharpest result and print at 100% (or “fit to page” on A4). The PNG is 300 DPI, which is handy for tablets and coloring apps. This page is free for personal, family and classroom use.
