Guess the Drawing Game Cards

Updated October 2026 · 6 free printables

Printable cards for the guess what I'm drawing game: each card shows one drawing in four steps, from the first shape to the finished picture. The grown-up copies step 1 onto the whiteboard, everyone guesses, then step 2 is added, and so on until someone gets it. Six sets: animals, holidays, around the house, in the garden, treats and toys, and rockets, boats and balls.

The steps are the same ones used in our how-to-draw guides, so the drawings stay simple enough to copy on a board in seconds. The answer is printed in small type on each card for the person drawing.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play guess what I'm drawing?

Hold the card so the others can't see it. Draw step 1 on the board and ask: what is it going to be? Take guesses, then draw step 2, and keep going. Whoever guesses right first gets to draw the next card.

What if my child guesses right at step 1?

Great, give a point and move on. For a harder round, draw the steps in a different order or draw with your other hand.

Can kids be the drawer?

Yes. The four pictures on the card are easy to copy, so a 5- or 6-year-old can lead a round while the grown-ups guess.

How many cards are there?

Thirty: six pages with five cards each.
